WALL-MOUNTED INDOOR UNITS

Wall-mounted indoor units are the most popular and widely used type today. They are used in almost every air-conditioned space, with typical capacities of 9000 btu/h, 12.000 btu/h, 18.000 btu/h and 24.000 btu/h, which makes them harder to use in large spaces. This type of indoor unit has the following advantages and disadvantages:
Advantages
- Suitable for any space
- Simple to install, either before or after the interior finishing work
- Cleaning and maintenance are also extremely quick and easy.
Disadvantages
- The small design is not suitable for large spaces such as halls and restaurants
- Can detract from the look of spaces that call for an upscale finish
Applications
- Commonly used in homes, bedrooms and simple rooms where aesthetics are not a priority
DUCTED CONCEALED CEILING INDOOR UNITS

A ducted concealed ceiling air conditioner is a type of air conditioning system in which the indoor unit delivers cool air through ductwork hidden above the plasterboard ceiling. This protects the air conditioner’s components from the outside environment and extends the product’s service life, while also improving the look of the home. This type of indoor unit has the following advantages and disadvantages:
Advantages
- Can condition a large space or several small adjacent rooms
- Creates fresher, cooler air
- Quiet operation
- Saves room space by making use of otherwise unused ceiling voids.
Disadvantages
- Must be installed before the ceiling is finished.
- The equipment itself is not expensive, but installation is costly because of the extensive and expensive ductwork and fittings required.
- Cleaning a ducted concealed ceiling air conditioner is relatively complicated, as it is time-consuming and involves quite a few steps.
- The minimum indoor unit capacity for local systems varies between brands, for example: Daikin- Min is 18.000 btu/h, LG- Min is 12.000 btu/h
Applications
- Commonly used in villas, townhouses and air-conditioned spaces with high aesthetic requirements

CEILING CASSETTE INDOOR UNITS

This type of air conditioner is concealed in the ceiling, with only the visible part, called the panel, exposed. This type of indoor unit has the following advantages and disadvantages:
Advantages
- Good air distribution
- Saves space and improves aesthetics
- Low noise
- Easy maintenance
Disadvantages
- High cost
- Harder to coordinate with the ceiling design, as there are few panel styles
- Large size is another drawback: the panel of a 24.000 btu/h unit measures (~ 830x830mm)
- Not suitable for areas with ceilings higher than 4m
Applications
- Commonly used in kitchens, living rooms, restaurants and common areas.
