PUBLIC ADDRESS SYSTEM DIAGRAM

Public address system diagram

In busy public areas such as supermarkets, shopping malls, banks, airports and office buildings, a public address system is essential. It allows announcements to be broadcast quickly and accurately to the people who need to hear them. In this article, we look at the schematic diagram of a public address system.

Why install a public address system?

An announcement system is needed in crowded areas because:

  • In places where many people gather, such as hospitals, schools, bus stations, airports, supermarkets and factories, a public address system is needed to broadcast information quickly and widely to everyone when an emergency occurs.
  • Office buildings, apartment blocks and similar premises need an announcement system to deliver important information. In particular, if a fire breaks out, it broadcasts alerts and guides people to evacuate.
  • An announcement system can transmit signals over long distances and link different areas together. This saves time and money on communication at work while still delivering optimal results.
  • With its high power output, the system can reach distances of several kilometres, making it quick and easy to connect different areas and create a modern, professional environment.
  • Audio equipment now comes in a wide range of attractive designs with many modern features, so a sound system also adds an elegant, decorative touch to the space.

Where to install a public address system

Announcement systems are used in many public places, including car parks, railway stations, airports, ports, schools, hospitals, shopping malls, supermarkets, buildings and apartment complexes.

A public address system is designed with speakers in suitable positions to ensure the sound is loud enough and clear, without distortion, buzzing or irritating feedback squeal. The installation positions are determined by the actual conditions of each area before a detailed layout is drawn up.

Public address system model diagram

An announcement system has 3 main parts: input devices, central processing equipment and output devices. Setting up the system means connecting the input devices to the output devices through the central processing equipment. Each device has its own function and role, and the connections are made in a set sequence.

The schematic diagram of a public address system is fairly simple. Specifically:

  • Audio signals are received through input devices such as microphones, phones or laptops.
  • These signals are then sent to the central controller, where the speaker zones for the announcement are selected.
  • Next, the audio signal goes to the amplifier in the central processing unit, which processes it and amplifies it many times over so the sound is loud enough to be heard in public areas.
  • Once processed and routed, the audio signal is sent to the speakers and the announcement reaches the listeners.

Step-by-step public address system installation process

A public address system is installed following these steps:

  • Step 1: Receive the client’s requirements and establish the purpose and the spaces where the sound system will be used.
  • Step 2: Survey the installation area on site and propose the optimal sound system solution.
  • Step 3: Advise the client on the solution and installation layout, and provide an installation quotation.
  • Step 4: Once the client approves the solution and the quotation, sign the contract.
  • Step 5: Install the announcement system according to the agreed layout and solution.
  • Step 6: Test the operation of the entire sound system, hand it over to the client and provide post-installation maintenance.

Key points when installing a public address system

  • Choose speaker types and positions to suit each area for the best sound coverage.
  • Divide the broadcast zones clearly to avoid overlapping sound zones in one place, which makes the audio muddled.
  • For large announcement systems, use good-quality speaker cable that resists interference and breakage so the audio signal stays clean.
  • Do not run sound system cables close to network or power cables.
  • Calculate and select speaker power to suit the space being covered.

We hope this overview of the public address system model has given you useful information about announcement system installation solutions.
