In our previous article https://techconnectmepf.com/en/why-villas-need-a-fresh-air-supply/ TechConnect Vietnam explained why a villa needs a fresh air supply. In this article, we walk through the main types of fresh air supply systems so that you can choose the one that best suits your home
SIMPLE FRESH AIR SUPPLY USING WALL-MOUNTED FANS

In simple air-conditioned spaces, homeowners usually install split air conditioners with wall-mounted indoor units, as shown in the illustration. However, they often install only the air conditioner and forget the fan, which is why occupants tend to wake up feeling tired. To bring oxygen into such a space, we recommend installing a wall-mounted exhaust fan that extracts the cool, CO2-laden air from the room. This creates negative pressure inside, so outdoor air carrying oxygen is drawn into the air-conditioned space through gaps around doors and windows, or as people come and go. This is the simplest way to provide fresh air
FRESH AIR SUPPLY USING FANS AND DUCTWORK
Wall-mounted fans are generally suited to small rooms and simple projects with limited technical and aesthetic requirements and a low budget. To overcome these limitations, we recommend a more active and professional fresh air system

Fresh air is drawn in from outside through a louver and dust filter, then delivered into the room by a fan and ductwork. Depending on the design, fresh air can be supplied directly to the air conditioner intake for mixing or straight into the conditioned space. This brings oxygen-rich outdoor air into the air-conditioned space in a far more controlled way.
HEAT RECOVERY FRESH AIR SUPPLY SYSTEMS

A heat recovery ventilator (HRV) provides ventilation (supplying fresh air and extracting stale air) while also retaining part of the heat that would otherwise be lost during ventilation. This reduces temperature swings in the room and keeps indoor temperature and O2/CO2 levels stable.
HRVs can also run in a low-load mode at night. With no heat sources in the room at that time, the HRV only needs to run at a moderate level. As a result, the FCUs are not overloaded when they start up in the morning, and air keeps circulating throughout the night, keeping occupants comfortable.
HRV heat recovery units can be combined with other air conditioning systems such as VRF, Daikin VRV and chillers to achieve the best possible energy efficiency.

1. Fresh air intake duct
Draws air in from outside the building. A louver with an insect screen can be fitted at the end of the fresh air duct to protect the unit.
2. Supply duct
Outdoor air travels through the fresh air duct into the HRV, where it exchanges heat with the cool room air passing through the return duct. The supply duct can connect directly to a ceiling diffuser, or to the return duct or return plenum of an FCU.
3. Return duct
This duct connects to the return grille in the room and draws indoor air out. That air contains the CO2 people exhale as they breathe, so removing it keeps the room air cleaner and fresher. After passing through the HRV, the return air exchanges heat with the fresh air stream to lower the temperature of the incoming outdoor air, saving energy.
4. Exhaust duct
Carries exhaust air from the room to the outside of the building. An exhaust louver is also fitted at the end of the exhaust duct. Note that this exhaust louver must be placed far enough from the fresh air intake louver, so that the air just expelled is not drawn back into the room.
CyberVent AirProce CENTRAL AIR TREATMENT SYSTEM

Overview
CyberVent is a premium ventilation, fresh air supply and air purification system designed specifically for luxury villas, covering an area of up to 1000m2. CyberVent can deliver air that is up to 99.96% clean, removing CO2, bacteria, viruses, unpleasant odours and other pollutants. CyberVent also features a heat exchanger that balances indoor temperature, maximising energy savings and keeping your living space comfortable.
What are the components of CyberVent AirProce?
The CyberVent AirProce central air treatment system consists of 6 main components:
- Hybrid air filter
- Heat exchange main unit
- Electronic air distribution unit
- Bluetooth sensor
- Smart controller
- Aroma diffuser vents
Hybrid air filter

The hybrid air filter of CyberVent Airproce uses powerful HEPAStack filtration technology. This combines a coarse pre-filter, an F7 medium-grade filter and a HEPA H13 filter for professional-grade filtration.
- Coarse pre-filter: washable with water; effectively traps pollen, hair and other large particulate pollutants.
- F7 medium-grade filter: efficiently removes PM2.5 fine dust
- HEPA H13 high-grade filter: removes bacteria, viruses and other fine particulate pollutants. Notably, its PM0.3 filtration efficiency reaches 99.96%.
The air mixing damper on the filter unit adjusts the proportion of incoming fresh air, with 5 different settings. When the temperature difference between indoors and outdoors is too large, the damper opens so that part of the filtered room air tempers the heat of the incoming outdoor air. When the mixing ratio is set to 0%, fresh air no longer enters the unit’s air circulation and CyberVent operates as a closed-loop recirculating air purifier.
The CyberVent hybrid filter unit also has a smart indicator light that reminds you of the filter’s remaining life, so you can easily tell when it is time to replace the filters.
Heat exchange main unit

The heat exchange main unit is the heart of the CyberVent AirProce system, serving as both the power centre and the energy recovery and reuse centre. Its casing is a metal frame encased in EPP, making the unit durable and long-lasting.
The CyberVent AirProce main unit is built around 3 major symmetrical systems: power symmetry, resistance symmetry and thermal zone symmetry, which together create a high-efficiency, energy-saving heat exchange core.
The unit is fitted with two symmetrical EC fans from renowned German fan manufacturer EBM at the supply and return air openings. They deliver powerful performance and, combined with a full-size ERV/HRV heat exchange core, achieve heat exchange efficiency of up to 85%.
Electronic air distribution unit
The electronically controlled air distribution unit connects directly to the heat exchange main unit and delivers fresh air evenly to every zone. Put simply, it works like the body’s blood vessels, carrying blood to every part of the body.
The CyberVent electronic air distribution unit has 16 air ducts, each electronically controlled, so airflow is intelligently directed to the different areas of the home.
The unit is made of highly durable EPP with outstanding sound and thermal insulation. Notably, it can directly reduce noise by up to 90dB.
Bluetooth sensor

The CyberVent Bluetooth sensor is paired 1:1 with the smart control panel to monitor air quality, including temperature, humidity, CO2 and PM2.5 concentration. The sensor needs no installation: it simply plugs into a three-pin socket and connects via Bluetooth, which is extremely convenient.
Smart control panel
The CyberVent AirProce smart controller has a 4.1 inch touchscreen with a resolution of 720*720. It lets users easily adjust and monitor the parameters of every device in the CyberVent system. Beyond adjusting pressure, airflow and purification modes, the panel can also accurately display the weather and outdoor air quality.

Aroma diffuser vents
The CyberVent aroma diffuser vent has a 100mm diameter with a 125mm cut-out. It is made of ABS with a metallic silver or metallic black finish, so it suits a wide range of interior styles. The supply vent holds 15ml of fragrance, and the return vent is fitted with a G4 filter, keeping your home filled with a pleasant scent.
